It is a matter of great pride and privilege to be a part of an esteemed organization the University of Agriculture, Peshawar that prepares experts to meet the challenges of the agriculture and livestock industry. This has become possible with the untiring efforts of our teaching faculty which imparts quality education by relating it with real life scenarios and current developments in their respective fields. I believe that the Society’s vision is to resolve the problems relating to livestock production and create a significant and meaningful impact on academics, and research, as demonstrated by the mission of the society. Livestock sector is one of the most ancient and still a traditional sector in most parts of South Asian countries.
Pakistan is mostly characterized as agricultural terrain where livestock sector is an obvious choice of employment for a sizable population of the country. Developing and promoting applied research, new technologies, and veterinary education, I hope that this society will promote theoretical as well as practical knowledge and develop a bridge between the community and university. I wish every possible to this successes to this society in the days to come.
The Societies related to Theriogenology are usually an association of scientists and physicians interested in research in the field of reproduction. Some engage in basic or applied research, while others perform clinical practices. All are dedicated to advancing knowledge of reproductive processes in animals and in humans. I hope the Society for Theriogenology and Reproductive Medicine will play a key role in reproductive biology, treatment of infertility, contraception, enhancement in fertility, livestock production, and pregnancy health treatment of reproductive system cancers, extender development and artificial insemination. Other than this, I am hopeful it will also focus on identification of environmental contaminants that hazard the reproductive efficiency in both human and animals.
